Houston’s Rise: DKEELA’s Hit “Do You Mind”

Brand New Houston invites all our hip hop music fans to meet up and coming artist DKEELA, because if you don’t know him… you ‘bout to be late!

The Dirty South always knew it was only a matter of time before Houston took back the reigns of the hip-hop world and DKEELA is here to help make sure that happens. Hailing from Kenner, Louisiana, DKEELA came to our third coast city in 2006 bringing with him a legacy of family music, which has clearly inspired his versatile and witty style that we’ve all been waiting for. His #BrandNew single “Do You Mind” unmistakably Image-1shows his ability to make powerhouse hits. This single is definitely a club banger late-summer anthem and perfect for the ladies with its Chris Brown influences. If you haven’t heard it yet, we’re telling you.. you’re ‘bout to be late!

It’s no surprise that DKEELA just graced us with a potential chart topper because he’s really not new to the game. You may have seen him performing at The Secret Group or opening up for Paul Wall, and if you search him on Vevo you’ll see he’s even a verified artist. The city of Houston stands behind one of our newest talents rocking the industry and Brand New Houston will for sure keep you posted on all the new moves of our top players!

Check out Do You Mind on all your favorite streaming sites and make sure you check him out at The House of Blues soon!

The Park People Are Taking Over..

Brand New To Houston…Park People 4

The Park People have arrived, but they are only here for a limited time. Nathan Sawaya, the man behind THE ART OF THE BRICK exhibition brought his talents to Houston with this must see installation until August 24th. The sculptures are currently at Allen Center on The Acre, but they don’t like being in one place for too long so visit them there before they move to 909 Fannin St. on Aug. 13–24 and these nomads are gone for good.
